Overview
Product Description
The Megger SPI4000 Smart Primary Injection Test System is a high-current electrical test system engineered for commissioning, maintenance and verification of low-voltage circuit breakers, moulded-case circuit breakers, substation switchgear, current transformers and protective relay equipment. The SPI4000 is designed around a 4,000 A continuous current capability, with substantially higher short-duration output available for instantaneous and high-current testing. At the specified 480 V input, the system can produce 4,000 A continuously, 6,000 A for 15 minutes, 15,000 A for 2 minutes and up to 40,000 A for 2.5 seconds according to the Megger datasheet. One of the key advantages of the SPI4000 is its automatic current regulation and automatic zero-crossing firing control, which eliminates DC offset and reduces the need for manual firing-angle adjustment when testing different breaker loads. The system uses PowerDB software and can be operated through a PC or optional Smart Touch View Interface (STVI). Its Ethernet connection provides communication with the control system. The SPI4000 is particularly suitable for electrical testing companies, switchgear manufacturers, utilities, substations, industrial maintenance departments and commissioning engineers requiring high-current primary injection testing.
