The Alerton VLC-550 VisualLogic Controller is a compact programmable field controller designed for distributed HVAC and building automation systems. It communicates over a BACnet MS/TP network and can operate as part of an Alerton BACtalk building automation system or as a standalone controller. The unit provides five configurable inputs supporting applications such as thermistors, dry contacts, 0–5 VDC and 4–20 mA signals, together with five binary outputs for controlling HVAC equipment. The controller supports Alerton's VisualLogic programming environment, with control and setup data stored in non-volatile memory. The VLC-550 is particularly useful as a replacement controller for existing Alerton HVAC installations, where maintaining the original building automation architecture can be more practical than replacing an entire control system.
